Although originally an American condiment, Peanut Butter is gaining a tremendous number of fans across the world; and why not?! It’s so versatile that a jar of peanut butter can make a meal of any combination of random ingredients – something that a tired young working professional in need of feeding him/herself looks forward to dearly on most days.
Although it doesn’t quite reduce our consumption, I sometimes feel like I will one day have to sell an arm and a leg to buy peanut butter. Or, if I saved all the money I spent on peanut butter, I could probably buy myself a super cool car a decade down the line! 😀
I realized a while ago that peanut butter is really simple to make at home, costs a fraction of the amount I pay for commercial peanut butter (I’ll keep you posted on the car :P), is all natural, no preservatives, has fewer calories, easily lasts up to 4 months in the fridge (if I don’t finish it before then) and takes less than 5 minutes to make.
So, why not just make it at home! How, you ask? Take a look:
Go crazy with your mix-ins, let me know how your experiments go, and look out for more peanut butter based recipes.
Till next time… Bon Appetit!
